Election Day at Starbucks was crazy...who knew people would get so excited over a free cup of coffee???
The day after the Election was almost as crazy...people must think fall/winter is on the way to Memphis!
If you have not yet tried Starbucks new Thanksgiving Blend, you have been letting one of life's best little treats pass you by!
Maddie was the best little Hannah Montana on Halloween night.
I was saved on Halloween night 22 years ago.
Our small group collected canned food for the Collierville Food Pantry on Halloween as we trick or treated with the kids--we had a great response
Alison and I went to Odenville, Alabama on Sunday to hear my brother-in-law Mike preach. Mike pastors 1st Baptist Church in Odenville and until his house outside of Memphis sells, he commutes on the weekends (it's only 9 hours round trip every week). The church service was great and we had a wonderful time riding down and back with Mike and Amy while Mimi and Granddaddy watched Madalyn and Noah for us.
We visited Five Guys Burgers and Fries for the first time--I promise you it won't be the last--Killer Burger and Fries!!!
We went to a sports store called Bama Fever/Tiger Pride--I absolutely loved half the store--guess which half!
Listening to the Titans game on the radio on the way back home Sunday afternoon was a little intense for me...especially when it went into overtime!
Titans win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-0
There are no ugly wins
Alabama also won but because of the unhelpful people at Comcast Cable in Memphis, we could not order the PPV to see it!

Phil Fulmer is out at UT...wonder if Jon Gruden or Chris Peterson will get the job...
I am on a six game winning streak in my fantasy football league--it will actually be seven after Sunday--and that's not me being cocky because I have a "forfeit" win that I get this week since our league ended up being one player short--I'll take any win I can get!
Tom is the Bomb! My man scored us Titans tickets for the Browns game December 7!

One of my old college buddies who moved to Memphis in January took me on a tour of his wonderful church and then treated me to lunch last week. Jon, thank you again, I had a great time catching up with you and look forward to doing it again really soon (my treat this time)!
The Bobbitts are heading out of town for a little impromptu road trip on Friday morning for a few days...the blog will be silent until at least Monday!
We plan to hit "The Cheesecake Factory" in Nashville on our way home...good stuff!

We Christians tell the world that God is in control...do we really live like we believe it? I can't tell you how many believers have told me how worried they are about the election, the stock market, the future coach of Tennessee (ha ha), etc.

I am not sure who will be elected president. I know this: about half of Americans will be jumping for joy and the other half will be incredibly bummed later tonight. Regardless of who the next president of the United States will be, I know Who is really in control: His Name is Yahweh--Almighty Maker of Heaven and Earth. God worked through both pagan and righteous kings all through Israel's history. There is a proverb that says "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord." I believe that God is in control no matter who wins the election.

Which leads me to wonder aloud, have you prayed for the other candidate today? Are you praying that God will glorify Himself in our hearts and through our country regardless of who gets the electoral votes necessary to take over the White House in January? Are you committed to honor the president of our country even if it isn't the guy you voted for?

If you really believe God is in control, know that He will glorify Himself no matter who wins the election tonight.

And regardless of your political affiliation and hopes, that is truth you can stand on!!!
